FlyQ EFB version 2.3.2 Now Available. Fix for GPS issue with Stratux.

FlyQ EFB version 2.3.2 was released on Friday.  It is a bug fix / performance release with the following changes.
  • Fix for GPS issue when using an ADS-B receiver that does not include an integrated GPS (Stratux most commonly)
  • Performance/memory improvements with ADS-B radar
  • Reduce clutter/improve performance of ADS-B traffic by only showing targets within 75 NM

Virtually all ADS-B receivers include an integrated GPS.  The only common exception is the Stratux homebuilt system which has the GPS as an option.  After our last software release (2.3.1), we became aware of a problem that affected Stratux users without a GPS where FlyQ would fail to use the internal GPS or even an external GPS when the Stratux was connected.  There was no problem for users of other ADS-B systems, for Stratux users who added a GPS module to their Stratux configuration, or for those who fly without any ADS-B.
Also, as many people have asked: Yes, it’s safe to upgrade to iOS version 9.3.2

To upgrade FlyQ EFB:

Upgrades to FlyQ EFB are free.

As a reminder, version 2.3 (released 3 weeks ago), introduced:

  • Bi-direction flight plan transfer with Dynon SkyView
  • GPS and AHRS updates from a connected Dynon SkyView system
  • Support for Microsoft Flight Simulator / Lockheed Martin Prepar3D (X-Plane has been supported for some time)
  • The GPS Alt gauge becomes Pressure Alt when the altitude source supplies pressure altitude (some ADS-B systems).
  • Various bug fixes

  1. Is there anywhere in the FlyQ chart data that I can see Sectional definitions of map features like you find on the edge of paper sectionals. There have been sometimes that I wanted to look up what a map symbol means but have not found a way to do this on my FlyQ EFB on my iPad

  2. Waiting for the chart legend feature. Actually, it’s not just the legend as that info can be gotten other places, it’s the other border items like special use airspace times, etc. that are needed.

  3. A complete build guide on how a do it yourself builder can source all parts for a dual bank ADS-B stratux with a battery is at
