iOS 11.4.1 Approved

Seattle Avionics has approved the use of Apple iOS version 11.4.1 with current shipping version of FlyQ EFB for iPad/iPhone, FlyQ InSight for iPhone/iPad, and SmartPlates & Charts for iPhone/iPad.

How to find the version number for FlyQ EFB

  1. Open FlyQ EFB app
  2. Go to the Settings screen (gear icon)
  3. The version number is located at the top right. Example: v3.2.0

How to find the version number for Apple iOS

  1. Open the Settings app for iPad/iPhone
  2. Go to General
  3. Go to About
  4. The iOS version number is under ‘Version’. Example: 11.2.1 (15C153)

How to update a Seattle Avionics app

  1. Open the App Store app
  2. Go to the Updates screen (bottom right)
  3. Look for the app icon and tap on Update

How to update Apple iOS

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Go to General
  3. Go to Software Update
  4. Tap on Download and Install

*Please note that beta (aka “test”) versions of Apple iOS are not finished, have not been fully tested, and contains bugs. Seattle Avionics does not support beta versions of Apple iOS for use with any of its apps.

  1. I still have not yet had a reply for the TFR use you have for the fire zone. You still have it as surface to 8,000’ and FAA has it as 8,000-9,000’.

    • Hi Rick. We don’t generally do tech support on the Blog. Also, I was out last week anyway. We get our TFR data verbatim from the FAA so we just publish what their digital data says. This may not be exactly the same as the text version they post on the web site but it’s the official data source. I just looked up your support ticket and cross referenced it with the DIGITAL (XML) data the FAA has for that TFR. It say 0-8000 ft. See below:

    • BTW — I just sent you back screenshots from the FAA’s web site that show the 0-8000 more clearly. The blog system doesn’t seem to allow pasting of images so I sent it back to you via our tech support system’s email.
