Approved for use: Apple iOS v12.4

Seattle Avionics has approved the use of Apple iOS version 12.4 with current versions of FlyQ EFB for iPad/iPhone, FlyQ InSight for iPhone/iPad, and SmartPlates & Charts for iPhone/iPad.

How to find the version number for FlyQ EFB

  1. Open FlyQ EFB
  2. Go to the Settings screen (gear icon)
  3. The version number is located at the top right. Example: v4.0

How to find the version number for Apple iOS

  1. Open the iPhone/iPad “Settings” app
  2. Go to “General”
  3. Go to “About”
  4. The iOS version number is under ‘Version’. Example: 11.2.1 (15C153)

How to update a Seattle Avionics app

  1. Open the App Store app
  2. Go to ‘Updates’ screen (bottom right)
  3. Look for the app icon and tap on ‘UPDATE’

How to update Apple iOS

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Go to General
  3. Go to Software Update
  4. Tap on ‘Download and Install’

*Please note that beta (aka “test”) versions of Apple iOS are not finished, have not been fully tested, and contains bugs. Seattle Avionics does not provide support for devices that have been ‘jail broken’ or that is using beta versions of Apple iOS.

  1. When select the services tab the program crashes. Also when I try to add a new item to the top display , it crashes. Not good, Randy

  2. Randy, by “top display” if you mean adding a gauge in the Gauge Bar, using an iPad Pro 12.9″ in landscape mode, you are correct. Turns out the bug has always been there (not new to 4.0) but no one noticed it because of the uncommon screen configuration required to cause it. But we have fixed it in 4.0.1 (and about 150 other issues, mostly NOT related to 4.0). The current public beta of 4.0.1 does not have the fix working properly but the final 4.0.1 will as I reviewed the fix on just such an iPad myself yesterday.
