FlyQ EFB 6.9.0 Release

FlyQ EFB 6.9, like FlyQ EFB 6.8 released a few weeks ago, is mostly about fixing many long-standing bugs in FlyQ. New FlyQ EFB 6.9, just released, addresses more than 20 of these issues.

Here’s what’s we fixed in this release:

  • FIXED: Various map-related crashes
  • FIXED: Crash when selecting Direct To to a waypoint
  • FIXED: Crash on flight plan loading with some airports (e.g. KGDK)
  • FIXED: Crash when manually adding multiple entries to the Flights tab with +
  • FIXED: Changes made to Flight details are not saved
  • FIXED: The ADS-B distance ring does not move in some cases
  • FIXED: ADS-B lightning does not appear in some cases
  • FIXED: Icing incorrectly changes view when zoom level is changed
  • FIXED: FlyQ freezes on the Airport Diagram page after landing
  • FIXED: After adding a web-based documents to Documents, the download never completes
  • FIXED: Dynon flight plan transfer does not work
  • FIXED: Deleting multiple flight plans at the same time fails
  • FIXED: Various text and data entry fields are invisible or hard to read if Dark Mode is used
  • FIXED: Graphs and Reports disappear from the Flights tab if another tab is selected
  • FIXED: The Sort feature in the Airports tab does not sort properly for Fuel or Weather
  • FIXED: The Weather/Nearby and Airports/Weather tabs sometimes show overlapping text in the METAR and TAF areas
  • FIXED: Changing the ETD for a Flight Plan often changes the selected aircraft
  • FIXED: The Fights Merge function is very hard to discover (add a Merge icon)
  • FIXED: Landing airport incorrectly pops up when changing the simulator
  • FIXED: NavLog page doesn’t use space efficiently
  • FIXED: After multiple flights are merged into one, the merged flight is not editable
  • FIXED: The My Flights / Logbook tab does not display correctly when selected on an iPhone.
  • POSSIBLE FIX: Flights tracks are sometimes not saved

How to Upgrade

If you already have FlyQ EFB on your iPad/iPhone:

  1. Go to the App Store on your device.
  2. In the upper right corner of the screen, tap your picture (probably with a red number).
  3. Find Available Updates or Upcoming Automatic in the Updates section.
  4. Find FlyQ EFB.
  5. If you see Open, it’s already downloaded. Tap Open to fire it up.
  6. If you see Update, tap to download, then tap Open when it appears.

If it’s not on your iPad or iPhone:

  1. If you’re reading this on an iPad or iPhone, click here to download.
    Otherwise…
  2. Go to the App Store on your iPad or iPhone.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Type FlyQ EFB in the search field at the top of the screen.
  5. Tap FlyQ EFB when it appears as you type.
  6. Tap Get or Download.

FlyQ EFB 6.9 requires iOS / iPadOS version 13.0 or better. We suggest iPads and iPhones introduced in 2021 or later for best performance. As of this writing, the current version of iOS is 17.4.1 and iPadOS is 17.4.1.
