FlyQ 6.5.3 Release

We are pleased to announce the release of FlyQ EFB version 6.5.3. This update addresses issues that some users have experienced. We appreciate your feedback and patience while we worked to resolve these issues.

Here’s a summary of what’s fixed in version 6.5.3:

  1. Fixed: Failure to Upload Documents in the Documents Tab
  • Users were experiencing issues when attempting to upload documents in the Documents tab. With the release of version 6.5.3, this issue has been resolved, and users can now upload documents.

2. Fixed: Completed Flights Not Appearing Properly in the Flights Tab

  • Some users reported that none of their completed flights were appearing correctly in the Flights tab. We have addressed this issue and resolved it for most flights. However, we are investigating why a small number of flights are still not properly displayed in the Flights tab.

FlyQ EFB 6.5 Released

Seattle Avionics’ commitment to making flying easier is again included in our latest version of FlyQ 6.5. We’ve taken feedback from thousands of users to add new features and updates that make FlyQ even stronger than before.

Check out the latest updates in FlyQ 6.5 here:

  • VFR Runway selection
  • Auto Zoom to landing
  • Auto Center
  • Mass Flight Plan delete
  • Auto-select a landing airport diagram
  • Takeoff dates added to the Flight Plan list
  • 3D Synthetic Vision now shows HITS boxes all the way to the landing runway
  • Fixed: Avidyne support does not work properly

VFR Runway Selection

FlyQ 6.5 helps you select and plan for VFR landings, even considering displaced thresholds. Tap the new +FP button next to a runway at your landing airport and a new popup lets you select which runway and which pattern (left or right) to use. The standard pattern direction for that runway is noted at the top and a wind arrow helps you decide which runway is best. Select the pattern direction you want, tap Add, and FlyQ adds DownwindBase, and Final legs to your flight plan. Remove the pattern by tapping -FP, then, if you like, choose a different runway. The 3D Synthetic vision view has also been enhanced to provide HITS boxes right down to the runway threshold!

Auto Zoom

As you approach landing, FlyQ slowly zooms the map in, so you don’t have to worry about adjusting the map as you transition from the cruise to landing. This can be disabled in Settings.

Auto Center

During flight, how many times have you accidentally moved the map and then realized that the GPS Lock was disengaged so the map was no longer centered over your current position? No more! The new AutoCenter feature automatically re-engages the GPS Lock (which re-centers the map) after you stop manually moving or zooming the map for 30 seconds. This only applies when in-flight, not during preflight planning, and can be disabled in Settings.

Flight Plan Mass Delete

One of our most common requests has been for a quick way to delete multiple Flight Plans from the Plans tab. We heard you! In FlyQ 6.5, tap the new Edit button above the Flight Plan list, tap the ones you want to delete, and tap the Delete button. Want to delete all the listed plans? Use the Select All button (NoteSelect All deletes all the plans shown on the screen, not all the plans you have ever created.)

Automatic Landing Diagrams

When you create a flight plan or change your destination, FlyQ now reduces your workload by automatically putting the landing airport’s diagram into the Procedure tab.

Takeoff Dates in the Flight Plans List

If you frequently fly to certain destinations, it can be hard to differentiate between them in the Flight Plan list as the names are similar — such as SEA-PDXSEA-PDX (2)SEA-PDX (3), etc. In addition to the name, FlyQ now shows the departure date of each plan, so it’s a lot easier to differentiate flights.

We hope you enjoy these new updates! Keep an eye out for more releases by connecting with us on social or subscribe to our newsletter. As always, we’d love to hear your feedback. Reach us at support@seattleavioincs.com.
