FlyQ EFB 6.8.0 Release

For the past few months, we’ve been concentrating on fixing many long-standing bugs in FlyQ. New FlyQ EFB 6.8, just released, addresses about 20 of these issues and the next release will fix more.

FlyQ 6.8 also adds a new feature that lets you set the opacity of the METAR/TAF circles with the Brightness and Opacity button at the top of the screen (iPad) or in Settings (iPhone).

Here’s what’s we fixed in this release:

  • FIXED: App effectively locks-up when an airport diagram pops up if Lock is on
  • FIXED: Wind barb/arrow opacity does not change when adjusted in Settings
  • FIXED: Multiple cases of the mapping engine crashing
  • FIXED: Column titles on the Plans tab sometimes hard to read
  • FIXED: App crash in certain cases when changing a flight plan via rubber-band
  • FIXED: Occasional crash when switching from split to single screen mode
  • FIXED: Crash with iOS 17 when rendering some graphic images
  • FIXED: Occasional crash when turning the Digital map layer off
  • FIXED: Aircraft selection sometimes changes when takeoff time changed
  • FIXED: Winds On/Off toggle invisible when iOS Light mode is on
  • FIXED: Crash when tapping a METAR or TAF text to see it larger after viewing multiple METARs or TAFs
  • FIXED: Text on certain weather graphic images is not aligned correctly
  • FIXED: FlyQ Online (web) Profile view no longer works
  • FIXED: Some small airports are missing fuel prices.
  • FIXED: Freezing Level and Satellite images are out-of-date or missing in the Weather Gallery.
  • FIXED: Delete of multiple flight plans from the Plans tab does not work.
  • FIXED: The Analysis tab in Flights is blank.
  • FIXED: The Detailed Logbook report from the Flights tab sums page totals incorrectly.
  • FIXED: Graphs created in the Reports section do not appear.

We encourage you to update your FlyQ EFB app to version 6.8 to take advantage of these new features and enhancements. As always, we appreciate your support and welcome your feedback to help us further improve your EFB experience.

How to Upgrade

If you already have FlyQ EFB on your iPad/iPhone:

  1. Go to the App Store on your device.
  2. In the upper right corner of the screen, tap your picture (probably with a red number).
  3. Find Available Updates or Upcoming Automatic in the Updates section.
  4. Find FlyQ EFB.
  5. If you see Open, it’s already downloaded. Tap Open to fire it up.
  6. If you see Update, tap to download, then tap Open when it appears.

If it’s not on your iPad or iPhone:

  1. If you’re reading this on an iPad or iPhone, click here to download.
    Otherwise…
  2. Go to the App Store on your iPad or iPhone.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Type FlyQ EFB in the search field at the top of the screen.
  5. Tap FlyQ EFB when it appears as you type.
  6. Tap Get or Download.

FlyQ EFB 6.8 requires iOS / iPadOS version 13.0 or better. We suggest iPads and iPhones introduced in 2021 or later for best performance. As of this writing, the current version of iOS is 17.4 and iPadOS is 17.4.
